The Biobank has been created as one of the more important structures with the aim to acquire samples for research. The main purpose of the Biobank is to collect various tissue samples (blood, operation material etc.) with their respective characteristic data and provide the necessary storage conditions.

New tissue collections are regularly added to the Biobank and the number of available nosologies is also growing rapidly. The main clinical base for the Biobank is Riga East Clinical University Hospital, while also actively cooperating with Oncosurgery, Toxicology and Sepsis, Urology and other clinics.
